Design tips for 1200×300

  • Little or no text in the image — Google overlays headline and description itself.
  • Keep the subject centred; edges get cropped depending on placement.
  • Landscape 1200×628 and square 1200×1200 are mandatory; portrait 960×1200 adds mobile reach.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my logo render so small?
Because Google scales the asset down to a few dozen pixels of height depending on the placement. Supply it at full size anyway, and avoid hairlines and thin weights that vanish when downscaled.
Do I need 1200x300 if I already have a square logo?
It is strongly advisable. Google prefers the landscape version in wide placements; without it the square logo is stretched into service or the ad runs without branding, costing you recognition.
Which file format and file size?
myfeedr delivers 1200×300 as PNG (lossless) and JPG. For trafficking, the JPG is what counts: around 60 KB is a realistic target for this size – small enough for any network without visible quality loss.
What does the format cost?
Formats are not sold individually — :size is part of the "Display" package from 199 €. Analysing your website is free.
