The badge is meant to interrupt: it sits at an angle or in a corner, has its own shape such as a circle, star or pennant, and a contrast colour so the eye lands there first. Its content is short, usually a discount, a date or a single word. It comes from print ad and flyer design and works the same way in a banner.

The rule: one badge per creative, three words at most, a colour from the brand but not the button colour, otherwise it competes with the click target. In animated banners it appears as the last element before the button, so the message is already there when it drops in.

myfeedr places the badge from the studio into every size, with a selectable shape, and lets you drag it freely in the single-banner editor.
